BEING RIGHT WITH GOD
OUR PROBLEM
God created us in His own image to have an abundant
life. The first man and woman, Adam and Eve were made perfect and lived
without sin until they rebelled against God. Now, all of Adam's descendants,
including you, live under the curse of death and sin. Everyone has deliberately
chosen to disobey God. In our own sinful state no one is even able to
seek after God. The result is our separation from God and the sentence
of death and hell upon us.
As it is written: There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all gone out of the way; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no not one. Romans 3:10-12
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:19-20
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3.23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6.23
Our situation is desperate. We are separated
from God and incapable of doing anything about it. We have sinned and
are under the curse of death and punishment.
OUR RESPONSE
We must confess and repent (turn away from our
sins) and surrender our lives totally to Him. God commands you to repent
and believe in the Lord Jesus. God even grants you the faith required
to believe. True converts will have enduring evidence of their salvation
and will love and fellowship with God's people in a local church. They
will bear spiritual fruit, and they will endure unto the end as they
watch and eagerly wait for the Lord to return as He promised.
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart
that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For whoever
calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:9, 13
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith*and this is not
of yourselves, it is the gift of God*not by works, so that no one can
boast. Ephesians 2.8-9
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner
of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see
the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed
you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain,
that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. John 15:16
In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where
I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you
know. John 14:2-4
Pray to God and confess your sins to Him. Turn from your sin and ask
Him to forgive you. Place your faith in Jesus, His death on a cross
in your place, and His resurrection from the dead. Surrender your will
to Jesus and find a local church to help you in your Christian walk.
